Letter Edit

The editor for your own website.

Press ⌘L on any page of your site, sign in, and say what should be different. A Build starts from that page and comes back as a pull request with a live preview. It ships when your team merges it, never before.

One shortcut

From “can someone change this?” to a pull request in one keystroke.

  1. ⌘L

    Press it on the page

On any page of your live site, or on a Letter preview. A link ending in #letter opens it too.

  2. sign in

    Sign in to Letter

Only people on your team's Letter account can ask for a change.

  3. say it

    Say what to change

In plain words: a new headline, a section that is missing, a button that says the wrong thing.

  4. PR

    Review the pull request

The Build starts from that page and opens a pull request with a preview. Merge it when it's right.

Why it's powerful

Everyone can ask. Engineers still decide.

01

The page is the context

No ticket explaining which page, which section, which button. The Build starts from the page you pressed ⌘L on, so it already knows where you are.

02

A pull request, not a CMS write

Every change comes back as a pull request on your repository: a diff you can read, checks that run, a merge your team decides on. Nothing goes live on its own.

03

Built in your code, your way

Letter's coding agent works in your repo with your framework, your components and your site's type and colours, so the change looks like your team wrote it.

04

See it before it ships

Each change comes back with a live preview of your own site. Want more? Ask on the preview and the Build keeps going on the same pull request.

05

Change the words where you see them

For a quick copy fix, edit the text right on the page. A screenshot of what you saw goes into the pull request with it.

06

Nothing new to install

⌘L ships inside the Letter Visitors script. No SDK, no build plugin, no new dependency.

Without ⌘L

  • Screenshot the page, circle the headline, post it in Slack
  • Someone turns it into a ticket
  • An engineer finds the file, guesses the wording, opens a PR
  • Back and forth on the copy, another commit
  • Merge, days later

With ⌘L

  • Press ⌘L on the page
  • Say what should change
  • A pull request and a live preview come back
  • Ask for more on the preview if it isn't right yet
  • Review the diff, merge when the checks pass

Install

Already running Visitors? You're most of the way there.

Letter Edit ships inside the Visitors script, the same v.js tag that counts your traffic and identifies the companies behind it. Verify your site, turn identification on, connect the repository, and ⌘L works on every page.

The shortcut into Letter's Build.

⌘L is one way in to the same Build that runs in the Letter app, in Slack, in the letterpress terminal agent and in your own agent over MCP. It is the one that starts on the page you are looking at.
